$30 stereo podcasting mic for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad

Tascam iM2If you’re a starting podcasting or need a mobile solution, then this great deal may be perfect for you!

The Tascam iM2 is a stereo condensor microphone that plugs into the 30-pin connector of an iPhone 4/4s, iPod Touch 4G, and iPad 1/2 (possibly the 3, but I can’t confirm this). This can turn any of these iOS devices into a portable podcasting recorder.

Since the mics are condensors, I recommend recording in a silent environment, or somewhere with great ambiant noise.

B&H has the iM2 for only $29.99, and it’s on Amazon.com for $29.90.

Consider upgrading to the iM2 Kit with Topper for a windscreen/pop filter for $69.95.

Do you like this better than the Mikey? I have a Zoom H1, which I love, but it’s not always with me.

I haven’t been able to compare the iM2 with the Blue Mikey yet. Now that I have an iPhone 5, my practical ability to compare 30-pin accessories is hindered.

why not use your Ipad to test it out it does have a 30 pin right?

Since the iPad is gigantic to an iPhone, I can’t make a practical, realistic test. There’s also some question on its compatibility with iPad 3.

I just ordered one today (Dec 28) through your affiliate link and still got the price listed. So if it expired, it is back on!

Awesome! I guess they did put the price back, so I’m updating the title. Thanks!

I’d love to hear how it works for you.
