Hey Daniel: I haven’t watched this video, but I’m familiar with Mark’s platform. I don’t think it’s accurate to say that Captivate is the only podcast hosting provider that is growth oriented or focused on helping their customers grow and succeed, or that other platforms are “lacking the features necessary for podcasters to succeed”. That implies that shows on other platforms are not succeeding, which is obviously untrue.
I agree on your counter. I think we’ll see more about what this “growth-oriented” stuff is really about, soon, and whether it is unique. But I do think they’re taking a unique approach. Looking at Libsyn and Blubrry as the current top providers, their approach (and that of many other hosts) is really, “Here are great tools, now you grow on your own.” So I’m eager to see what Captivate will bring that is unique.
So its been over 6-months …what do you think about Captivate.fm now? Are they really that good?
Here’s how good I think they are: I joined their advisory board!
I joined because I was impressed with how they were innovating in the stale podcast-hosting industry. So they’re now one of my top recommendations.
I’ll have an episode of my audio podcast, soon, to talk more about Captivate, what I like, and who I think they’re best for.
